Ox and Pigeon is a digital publisher founded by three friends in September 2010 over a round pisco sours in Lima, Peru. Our goal is to use the accessibility and convenience of electronic publishing to share the work of great authors from around the world and provide a worthwhile complement to traditional books and journals.

Founded in 1970, UPNE is a unique publishing consortium based at Dartmouth College, the host institution. UPNE has earned a reputation for excellence in scholarly, instructional, reference, literary and artistic, and general-interest books. The main aim of Swedish Book Review is to present Swedish literature to the English-speaking world. It carries translated extracts from the works of Swedish writers, a variety of articles and a wide range of reviews. SBR features not only established writers but also new or lesser-known ones and also includes the literature of Swedish-speaking Finland.
SBR’s coverage ranges well beyond popular genre fiction to include literary fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama and literature for children and young adults. Its seasoned pool of reviewers is a reliable resource for all those seeking information about new books from Sweden.

The Made in Michigan Writers Series, part of Wayne State University Press, is devoted to highlighting the works of distinguished statewide writers to showcase Michigan's diverse voices. The series publishes poetry, creative nonfiction, short fiction, and essays by Michigan writers with the aim of encouraging the recognition of the state's artistic and cultural heritage throughout Michigan, the Midwest, and the nation.

Founded in 1998 by Rebecca Wolff, Fence is a biannual journal of poetry, fiction, art, and criticism that has a mission to redefine the terms of accessibility by publishing challenging writing distinguished by idiosyncrasy and intelligence rather than by allegiance with camps, schools, or cliques. It is Fence‘s mission to encourage writing that might otherwise have difficulty being recognized because it doesn’t answer to either the mainstream or to recognizable modes of experimentation. Fence is long-term committed to publishing from the outside and the inside of established communities of writing, seeking always to interrogate, collaborate with, and bedevil other systems that bring new writing to light. Launched in 2001, Fence Books publishes poetry, fiction, and critical texts and anthologies, and prioritizes sustained support for its authors, mall of whom come to us through our book contests and then go on to publish second, third, fourth books.

Black Lawrence Press is an independent publisher of contemporary poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. We also publish the occasional translation from German. Founded in 2004, Black Lawrence became an imprint of Dzanc Books in 2008. In January 2014, we spread our wings and became an independent compall in the state of New York. Our books are distributed nationally through Small Press Distribution to Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and various brick and mortar retailers. We also make our titles available through our website and at various conferences and book fairs. Since its founding in 1938, the primary mission of the University of Georgia Press has been to support and enhance the University’s place as a major research institution by publishing outstanding works of scholarship and literature by scholars and writers throughout the world. The Song Bridge Project is dedicated to discovering, publishing, and promoting the best English language translations of important, contemporary poetry, prose, creative nonfiction, alternative genre, and book art. Our mission focuses on providing greater access to a range of literature through translation, while complementing existing journals of world literature and literary translation. We publish English translations of world literature from all languages, though our tradition has been and emphasis remains on English translations of Spanish language origin.

We’re a small independent press hand-built for writers and artists of all persuasions happily experimenting with the chemistry shared between form and image. At Treehouse we work closely with our writers to ensure that each manuscript is lovingly nurtured.

After a few years of sleep Mr. Cogito has returned to life. He had lived for more than twenty years. His model was the great Polish poet Zbigniew Herbert. Now we are looking once again for poems that have strength of image, sound, concept and feeling -- poems that also relate to the social realities of the poet's time and place.

Coimbra Editions publishes poetry in translation and books that explore the process of writing.

During its long history Oberon has launched the careers of some of Canada’s best-known writers: writers like David Adams Richards, Wayne Johnston, W.P. Kinsella and Rohinton Mistry. We founded two influential anthologies—Best Canadian Stories and Coming Attractions—that continue today to support new and established story writers. We are one of the very few publishers with a continuing commitment to Canadian poetry. We have also published 38 works of French-Canadian fiction in translation, introducing mall of Quebec’s best writers to the rest of Canada. In 1971 we created the national restaurant guide Where to Eat in Canada, now in its 45th edition after selling more than 150,000 copies.

Cleaver Magazine shares “cutting-edge” artwork and literary work from a mix of established and emerging voices. We publish poetry, short stories, essays, flash prose (500 words or less), visual art, and reviews of poetry books and other small press publications. We publish quarterly, in March, June, September, and December. In each issue we present several emerging writers and at least one emerging visual artist alongside established writers and artists. We see ourselves as facilitators and stewards of the literary and artistic work that we publish.

Still inspired by the ideals set forth by President Gilman in 1878, the Johns Hopkins University Press continues to identify and publish works that advance new knowledge, delivering them “far and wide“ in innovative and effective ways.

English language versions of foreign locked room mysteries and re-issues of forgotten English language classics

The Driftless Review is published by Platteville Poets, Writers and Editors, LLC, an organization dedicated to showcasing the works of emerging and established writers whose creative journeys have in some way brought them through the Driftless Region: the distinctive landscape of rolling hills and river valleys which join southwest Wisconsin, southeast Minnesota, and northeast Iowa. While we do showcase local writers, we accept submissions from allone.

Axolotl derives its name both from the small, aquatic salamander indigenous to Lake Xochimilco in México, and from Julio Cortázar’s short story of the same title. We love straddling languages and straddling locations; love magical realism, slipstream, and fabulism; love fiction, poetry, non-fiction, comics, lists, drama, sequential and non-sequential art, statues, trees, microfiction and prose poems.

House of Anansi Press was founded in 1967 by writers Dennis Lee and David Godfrey.
