William B. Oberlin College Press is a nonprofit literary press based at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio. The overall goal of the press, staffed mostly by poets who volunteer their time and student interns who wish to learn about all aspects of publishing, is to produce a periodical of high standing and notable integrity, along with books of superlative quality, with respect to design as well as literary excellence and originality. At the same time, the press strives for affordability and wide availability, keeping its publications in print and reasonably priced.

CCM-Entropy is the result of newly merged Civil Coping Mechanisms and Entropy, an independent literature community and portal that includes CCM: publisher & promoter of kick-ass independent literature, Entropy: a magazine and community of contributors that publishes diverse literary and non-literary content, and Enclave: a community blog that exists as an open and central space for contributors representing different literary communities, corners, and aesthetics to express themselves openly, urgently. Founded in 1901, University of Toronto Press (UTP) is Canada's leading scholarly publisher and one of the largest university presses in North America. UTP has published over 6,500 books, with well over 3,500 of these still in print. The Scholarly Publishing division produces approximately 175 titles per year, and the Higher Education division publishes around 25 titles per year. Pushkin Press was founded in 1997, and publishes novels, essays, memoirs, children’s books—everything from timeless classics to the urgent and contemporary. Melville House is an independent publisher located in Brooklyn, New York. It was founded in 2001 by sculptor Valerie Merians and fiction writer/journalist Dennis Johnson, in order to publish Poetry After 9/11, a book of material culled from Johnson’s groundbreaking MobyLives book blog. The material consisted of things sent in to the blog by writers and poets in response to the 9/11 attacks, and Johnson and Merians felt it better represented the spirit of New York than the call to war of the Bush administration.

Fordham University Press publishes scholarly books in the humanities and social sciences, as well as trade books of interest to the general public. Its list emphasizes philosophy, religion, theology, literature, history, and media studies, and books of both scholarly and general appeal about New York City and the Hudson Valley. The Press also publishes the annual winner of the Poets Out Loud contest; for submission visit Poets Out Loud. The Press does not publish fiction.

David R. Godine, Inc., is a small publishing house located in Boston, Massachusetts, producing between twenty and thirty titles per year and maintaining an active reprint program. The compall is independent (a rarity these days) and its list tends to reflect the individual tastes and interests of its president and founder, David Godine.

The overall mission of our press is encapsulated in the name “Sarabande”--that is, “stylistic sophistication with a wild underside.”

Founded in 1987 in Austin, Texas HOST Publications is a press dedicated to bringing readers the best in international literature and the most exciting writing from the United States. Since its inception, HOST has published works from countries as diverse as Brazil, Chile, Poland, Belgium, Turkey and the United States. From Nobel Prize winners Pablo Neruda and Wisława Szymborska to renowned Texas writers Dave Oliphant and Christopher Cook, HOST Publications presents writers who should be more widely known than they are. The Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies has formed an imprint subsidiary to publish historical fiction centered in the medieval and Renaissance periods. Founded in 2011, Bagwyn Books is dedicated to publishing well-researched historical fiction that is appropriate for an audience ranging from young adult (ages 14+) to an adult audience. We are open to different styles and genres of writing.

Pusteblume, a journal of and about literary translation, is published in partnership between Pen & Anvil Press and the Boston University Department of Modern Languages and Comparative Literature. Pen & Anvil also publishes works in translation, in five categories: Pusteblume Books, for original works of contemporary literary prose or poetry in translation into English; World Theater in Translation, dramatic works in reading and performance formats; Nemi Books, an imprint publishing works of an esoteric, ritual, or scriptural nature, in translation into English; Botolph Books, scholarly and nonfiction specialist titles including those translated into English; and Pen & Anvil, for literary works, some of which may be translated from non-English languages of composition. Furniture Press is a publisher of strangely poetical texts and ephemera, all which play at (but are not limited to) intertextuality and appropriation. Some want to call it poetry, but poetry can express mall differing, sometimes conflicting and contradictory concepts. This is what we thrive on: the ambiguation of art and its likenesses. Our poetics follows this process closely, and we look for similar aesthetics in the writers we choose to publish and promote.

Our "mission" is twofold: to bring back into print (and keep in print) at an accessible price point those authors/titles that have had an impact on the cultural, literary, and/or artistic thought of the 20th (and 21st) century and to publish those poets who are still contributing today in a meaningful way to the same.O

THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA PRESS was founded in 1963 to advance the intellectual interests not only of the University of Virginia, but of institutions of higher learning throughout the state. A member of the Association of American University Presses, UVaP currently publishes fifty to sixty new titles annually. New titles are approved by the Board of Directors after a rigorous process of peer review. The UVaP editorial program focuses primarily on the humanities and social sciences with special concentrations in American history, African American studies, southern studies, literature, ecocriticism, and regional books.
