ALTA Conference Wayfinders
If you want to know you'll have a friendly face waiting for you in Rochester, or if you want to be a first-timer's reliable conference guide, join the ALTA Conference Wayfinders! Our conference is growing, and as we see attendance increase, we know you want ALTA42 to be as warm, welcoming, and intimate an experience as we do. Fill out this form by October 21, 2019, and we'll pair up translators coming to the conference for the first time with those who know it best.
Work Exchange Program
Applications for the Work Exchange Program closed on Friday, September 13.
Submissions for our Bookfair closed on Sunday, September 22.
ALTA is excited for the return of Flash Sessions for editors and translators at our 42nd annual conference! Applications closed on Monday, October 7. Interested translators will have the chance to discuss a short sample of their work with an editor from a prominent publication. Translators will be paired with a participating editor for a 10-15 minute meeting to receive feedback on up to two pages of their work.
This year, we are also pleased to announce the introduction of Pitch Sessions for editors and translators! Translators will be paired with a participating editor or publisher from a prominent translation press for a 5-minute meeting to pitch a project. Sign-ups are open via our Google form and will close on
Friday, September 27 deadline extended until Monday, October 21! Please note that Pitch Session slots are first-come, first-served: by selecting an appointment, you are committing to meeting at that time with an editor. In selecting a slot, you have signed up and are confirmed for this time. Slots are sure to fill up quickly, so sign up before they disappear and take advantage of this chance to show off your work!
